A warehouse business in Germiston moved its cameras between buildings. We reinstalled and reprogrammed 16 cameras on two recorders, linked them up, added solar backup and replaced five cameras that gave a poor picture.
Where: Germiston · Site: Warehouses · Done: Apr 2025
The cameras had to move with the business, and some gave a poor picture
Equipment came out of two warehouses and had to go back in across the site, with long cable runs and some links too far to cable.
We re-ran the system across the site and backed it up with solar
- Removed the equipment from two warehouses.
- Ran about 1,200 m of heavy-duty outdoor network cable with junction boxes.
- Installed and programmed 16 cameras, two NVRs, two monitors, a server cabinet, switches and wireless links (six days on site).
- Installed solar backup: a 200 W panel, regulator, 50 Ah battery and a switch in an outdoor enclosure.
- Serviced the existing cameras and replaced five that gave a poor picture with colour night-vision cameras.

16 cameras back up on two recorders, with solar behind them
The cameras cover the site again, the poorest pictures were replaced, and the solar backup keeps part of the system going through power cuts.
