Ajax wireless alarm systems, installed across Johannesburg and Gauteng
Wireless, run from an app and photo-verified: we supply and install your Ajax alarm system, link it to your armed response company, and chase no walls doing it. Based in Walkerville, we work across Johannesburg, Pretoria, the East Rand and the Midvaal.
Since 1995
You want an alarm that’s tidy to fit, runs on your phone and doesn’t cry wolf
- “We don’t want walls chased and cables through the ceiling.”
- “I want to arm it from my phone and see which door is open.”
- “Armed response keeps coming out for nothing.”
- “The workshop is too far from the house for a wired alarm.”
An Ajax alarm system does all of that, and we install it properly
- Wireless that reaches: Ajax’s Jeweller radio is rated at up to 2,000 m in open space. We test the signal at every spot before we fix a device.
- On your phone: arm, disarm, see what’s open and get alerts in the Ajax app.
- Photo-verified alarms: MotionCam detectors take photos when they trigger, so you can see whether it’s a person or the cat.
- Hard to silence: Ajax says the system detects jamming and tampering and reports it.
- More than one way out: Ethernet, Wi-Fi and cellular, depending on the hub; the Hub 2 (4G) takes two SIMs and switches if one network drops.
- Long battery life: Ajax quotes up to 7 years on many of its detectors.
It suits finished homes, smallholdings with outbuildings (a ReX range extender carries the signal further), and small offices with separate areas and users.
Four steps, and the app is on your phone before we leave
- WhatsApp us your suburb and a few photos or a rough floor plan.
- Aftercare: battery checks, added devices, and a maintenance plan if you want one.
One itemised price for the devices, the install and the armed response link
Online kit prices leave out the work: choosing the right spots, testing the signal, linking to armed response and setting up the app. Ours include it.
What moves the price: the hub (4G, or 4G plus Wi-Fi), how many rooms and doors, MotionCam versus standard detectors, outdoor detectors and sirens, and range extenders.
The promise:
- Itemised and in writing, never exceeded without your OK.

Sirens
HomeSiren inside, StreetSiren outside.
Fire and water
FireProtect smoke and heat detectors, LeaksProtect leak detectors.
Range extenders
ReX for outbuildings and long properties.
Ajax keeps working through power cuts, and the 4G hub isn’t caught out by the 2G/3G switch-off
- Power cuts: detectors run on their own batteries.
- 2G and 3G: networks are switching them off, with a national target of the end of 2027. A 4G hub, or one on Ethernet or Wi-Fi, isn’t affected; an older 2G hub may need upgrading. More on alarm 4G upgrades.
Already have Ajax? We add to it, move it and service it
- Adding detectors, sirens or outdoor devices.
- Moving a system to a new house.
- Replacing detector batteries and re-testing signal strength.
Questions
Questions people ask us
Does an Ajax alarm work during power cuts and load shedding?
Yes. The detectors run on their own batteries, and the hub has a backup battery that Ajax rates at up to about 16 hours with standard settings. Your router also needs power for Wi-Fi or Ethernet reporting, so a 4G hub or a small backup unit keeps alerts flowing in a long outage.
Can an Ajax alarm link to my armed response company?
Yes. We set the hub up to report to your armed response company’s control room and test it with them before we leave. You keep whichever armed response company you use.
Is Ajax better than a wired alarm?
Not always. Ajax suits finished homes, smallholdings and offices because there’s no cabling to run. A wired alarm can make more sense on a large site or in a building that’s already cabled. We’ll tell you which suits your property.
How far does Ajax wireless reach on a smallholding?
Ajax rates its Jeweller radio at up to 2,000 m in open space, but walls, roofs and trees shorten that. On bigger properties we add a ReX range extender for outbuildings. We test the signal at every device before we fix it.
